Volunteers and Students
As usual, SUAT played host to a number of young people seeking experience of work in archaeology. At the request of their schools, one senior pupil from Kilgraston took part in a week’s placement, while one younger pupil from Balnacraig School visited weekly for an hour’s session in the Finds Room. SUAT also participated in ‘Take Your Child to Work Day’, with one young visitor from Oakbank Primary School learning some human anatomy, courtesy of the skeletons excavated at Ballumbie. Other volunteers during the year included students from Stirling and Dundee Universities who helped briefly with historical and other research.
