PUBLICATIONS

2004 saw a number of publications by SUAT staff, which have been added to the cumulative bibliography.

David Bowler’s book Perth. The Archaeology and Development of a Scottish Burgh was published as a TAFAC Monograph.

The results of SUAT’s excavations at Oathlaw and Tannadice Parish Church are described in a paper by Ray Cachart, published this year in TAFAJ Volume 10.

Some of the results of Adrian’s research into the nature and survival of ice-houses in Perthshire and Fife were published in the same volume, in a paper entitled ‘Three Perthshire Ice Houses: Selected results of a desk-based assessment and a programme of field investigations’. Also published in TAFAJ this year is Adrian’s paper discussing the variety of field drainage features recorded during SUAT’s long-term watching brief on the Lintrathen to Dundee water pipeline during 2002 and 2003.

Catherine Smith contributed to an on-line festschrift for Daphne Lorimer, a well-known and respected human bone specialist from Orkney.

Our survey of a clay building in the Carse of Gowrie was featured as a case study in Historic Scotland’s latest guide for practioners.

The monograph on the Caerlaverock Old Castle excavations has just been printed and will be available for sale shortly.
