Archiving: Records and Finds
A sizeable quantity of site records from many small fieldwork evaluations and excavations was prepared and deposited in the NMRS. By contrast, finds archiving has rather ground to a halt this year, partly because of the ongoing national review of Finds Disposal and the Treasure Trove process. This has meant that we are still storing the finds from the Parliament excavation, amounting to over a hundred boxes. Combined with the storage requirements of the Horse Cross finds, space is now at a premium.
Adrian was appointed to the Treasure Trove Advisory Panel this year following an interview at the Scottish Executive. This role has allowed him to make a contribution to the ongoing review process as well as to the regular work of the Panel at its meetings.
